Rock and Water is an integral part of the Health program and is used to support self-regulation and behaviour management at our school. The building blocks of the program are self- control, self-reflection and self-management. Building further on this makes it possible to pay attention to the themes of safety, assertiveness, communication and the ability to become self- aware, emotionally aware, body aware and aware of others.
Rock and Water uses physical exercises to make children aware of changes in their body when in different situations. This awareness is integral to preventing and controlling disruptive or confronting situations in the school.
The language of the Rock and Water program is language underpins the school’s restorative justice processes. Terms frequently used to prevent a situation from escalating are “low breath, rock behaviour” and “focus.”
